Bridges and footbridges adapted to their environment
A footbridge or a bridge is much more than a crossing: this new element of the landscape must find its place in the space which surrounds it and then becomes a promenade above the river, the rocky breach, the city.
A study of a work of art is a design on a territorial scale. Each project is unique: by its location, its shape, its geometry, its materials…
The appearance of a bridge comes from its supporting skeleton.
“Form and structure are interconnected”
These two essential parameters of a work of art must be managed simultaneously by the architect and the engineer who must work together from the very beginning of the project.
Over time, B&M Engineering has acquired extensive experience as a project manager or as an execution design office on bridge and footbridge projects, and in particular cable-stayed structures.
In our work, we seek finesse and elegance, with the aim of integrating the work into its environment as best as possible. The right structural choice and durability are an integral part of our design approach.

projet : passerelle suspendue ViaRhôna
Project approach
B&M Engineering includes 4 architect-engineers who are involved from the first design phases of a civil engineering project, through to its completion.
In every project, we seek the adequacy between the profile of the work, its structural typology, its urban and landscape integration, the materials used, and the construction methodology.
Types of work and materials
• Pedestrian and cycle bridges and footbridges
• Rigid structures (box, bow-string, trellis, etc.)
• Flexible structures (suspension bridges, cable-stayed bridges, Himalayan footbridges)
• Steel, aluminum, wood, concrete
